Pain under the left rib cage what could it be?

I am a 19 year old female and for the past three days I having been getting these sharp pains om the left side of my stomach right under the rib cage. They come and go at random times and they only last for a minute or two. What could it be?

I get that too. It feels like a hook. I am not sure what it is. Some people say it is gas … sometimes it hurts so bad i can't take a deep breath. but it happens to everyone. its probably gas or something.. what have you been eating?
