I am not bleeding or spotting but have had this persistent lower abdominal pain for 3days now. Its not on either sides, but feels like PMP. Sometimes it goes away when I am walking or doing other things, but when I lie down it comed back. Has anyone had this kind of experience, is it normal? Should I be worried? I am going for scan tomorrow, otherwise I’ll go crazy with worry. Help!
I am 6 wks 4 days and I’ve had cramps for about a week and a half at least. Actually went into the ER doctor about a week ago because they were so bad (but I think I freaked out a bit too- as this is my first pregnany). Went in for a scan a few days later and doctor said everything was fine. If you’re not bleeding I wouldn’t worry too much- Take some Tylenol (no Ibuprofen). Also- I was even spotting, mostly brownish/pinkish and the doctor said that was even normal. They also told me that if you are having pain on one side (although I know you said you aren’t) that it could be from the ovary you conceived off of. Just relax, the stress made mine worse I think and after the doctor did the scan and told me I was ok- I’ve felt quite a bit better. Also, drink lots of water and stay hydrated and rest. Congrats and good luck! Since we’re about on the same week, email me if you have any other questions! Have fun- hope you feel better

I currently have terrible pain on the left side of the back of my neck radiating upward to the back of my head, with a numbness on the left side of the back of my head…. Any ideas? It’s constant…all day, but can get so bad I’m incompacitated, crunched up crying.. It’s impossible to sleep, heat/cold can help/ or make it worse. Trying to get an appointment with a massage therapist, and have been taking muscle relaxants……. I’m lost!
It sounds like it may be occipital neuralgia. Who gave you the muscle relaxants (recent trip to the MD or old prescription???) I’d go see a MD, as it is likely something that will respond more to an anti-inflammitory– you can try Advil/Aleve, or the chiropractor. Sometimes, if that doesn’t help the MD can do a tiny injection of lidocaine/marcaine to numb the area.
Acupuncture is also sometimes helpful.
good luck

please add the pros and cons of peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplant..patients undergoing such please help!
thank u for all ur answers it was very helpful..anyone who has friends or patients on any of the methods?
Peritoneal dialysis requires an implantable catheter into the abdominal cavity. Abdominal fluid is drained, dialyzed, then returned to the abdomen. Cared for properly, the rates of infection are generally low (but not zero!). Another form of dialysis is hemodialysis, which is performed by removing blood, cleaning it, and returning it to the patient. This can be accomplished by one of several implantable venous catheters or a surgical conduit (either an artificial graft or arterial-venous fistula). There is also a risk of infection, but generally lower than peritoneal dialysis. Both forms are generally well tolerated, but peritoneal dialysis is often performed more frequently (i.e. daily) than hemodialysis (3 times weekly). Also, patients may complain of fatigue after hemodialysis. Some countries prefer one form of dialysis over the other, usually due to cost or health care delivery reasons.
Kidney transplant is a major surgical procedure. Aside from the risks of the actual procedure, it requires life-long immunosupression to prevent organ rejection. These medications may have side effects (including increased risk of infections), and require periodic monitoring. One benefit is that after transplant, patients do not require regular dialysis treatments. This may be an important consideration in younger patients.
As always, consult your kidney specialist regarding the best treatment for you or your loved one.
